Unity Park


The Grand Palace, where Unity Park is located, was established in 1887 and without counting Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.), the palace served as the living and working space of seven Ethiopian leaders. The palace covers an area of 40 hectares and contains a myriad of historical buildings and plants that date back to the time of Emperor Menelik II.

One of the most celebrated customs in Ethiopia, coffee ceremonies are held when the whole family is present. Typically, women make and serve the coffee and consider it an honour. Meskel Square

Meskel Square


Meskel Square is a place of public gathering, mostly for festivals and demonstrations. In fact, the name of the place itself comes from the Meskel Festival, which involves overnight celebrations. The name of the place was changed to Abyot temporarily in 1974, but has since then been changed back. The square was recently renovated and has been functional from June, 2021.
