Transit Hotel

We were booked into the Ramada hotel by Ethiopian airline on our transit. By Ethiopian standard this is a very good hotel as most of the guests are foreigners. The front desk staff understand English perfectly but some other staff have a limited understanding of the English language. It was difficult having a hot shower in the morning as there wasn't enough water pressure and the water was lukewarm at best. The elevators have security access so it's impossible for anyone to visit a floor he isn't lodged except the general floors. Overall, in Addis Ababa this will be a hotel to stay. I have no idea about the prices so can't comment on the price

Lovely hotel & restaurant with great service, food and staff

Staying at Ramada Addis last two weeks. Great experience so far. Staff generally is very polite and welcoming esp the Chefs Club restaurant, where food is delicious, and they make the guest feel comfortable. Their service is very nice and friendly. Reception (esp Ms. Nardos) and the Housekeeping staff are also very understanding and helpful. Rooms are good sized and have all the traveller amenities. Overall wonderful stay. Strongly recommend this place

Expensive for mediocre standards

Situated really close to the airport, and connected by an unreliable shuttle bus, the Ramada claims to have opened in 2017, but the fixtures in the room tell another story. The bedrooms are comfortable, but cracks in bathroom tiles, broken shower attachments and strange doors point to a much older hotel. The Oak bar is a nice attachment and busy midweeks. The menu is a good mix between western and westernised local food, with a nice drinks menu, including Ethiopian Heineken and Ethiopian Guinness. I waited thirty minutes for the shuttle to pick me up in the airport and on the return they forgot to pick us up at the lobby. The Brazilian steak house on the roof is a letdown. Beef is way too stringy and tough. The chicken was tasty though. Finally, just outside the hotel entrance and the main Bole airport road is an open sewer thanks to a broken pipe and cover. Don't fall into it! Lovely

Affordable Business Hotel -Ramada -Addis Ababa

I was pleasantly surprised to be warmly welcomed not just at the hotel reception but also by their representative at the Bole Airport itself. the good feeling as such began right at the airport as i arrived at the Addis Ababa airport after a long journey from Delhi /India the check in was swift and I was ushered into a large enough room on the upper floors that was clean and simple. The dinner was a quiet affair as the bar and music activity went on on the ground floor space adjoining the reception hall For the vegetarians like me the choices offered are less in number though service was courteous though the ed itself was comfortable enough to sleep well, one could hear the noise from the street below especially in the morning early hours which could be a minus point for light sleepers. my stay of a week at this business hotel was trouble free and my business visitors were well received and i was promptly informed of their arrival. Coffee shop adjoining the reception was efficient i partook dinner with my group of acquaintances and was happy to make the choice of vegetarian dish Ravioli . the service was excellent considering the group size and the variety of dishes the group selected . breakfasts were rather low key but one could always find a suitable sitting / table as the breakfast hall on the 1st floor is a spacious one . the hostess and the waiting / serving crew was polite and courteous . the taxi services as arranged by hotel were rather slow and took their sweet time to arrive. one could actually walk out and quickly take a taxi on the main road The security check and screening of carry bags every time one arrives was rather annoying but perhaps necessary for the security of the guests . i must say this arduous task was manned and performed by smiling personnel request for extension of one day stay was quickly accommodated by the smiling and articulate lady at front desk . all in all it was a stay i shall remember for a long time and hope to return the next time in Addi
