Yes, Addis Ababa is a very safe city. Of course, when traveling to a new place it's always important to be vigilant of your surroundings. Sometimes pickpockets can be found in more touristic areas of the city such as the Piazza or at minibus stands.

There are several ways to get around the city of Addis Ababa. The most popular form of transportation is our blue-and-white minibus taxi system, which usually operate daily from 5:30am to 9pm (until 8pm on Sundays), and can be found at most major intersections. You can also pick up a regular taxi at the airport and throughout the major areas of the city. Our hotel also offers complimentary on-site parking if you choose to rent a car. The city of Addis Ababa doesn't yet have Uber.

The main form of public transportation in Addis Ababa is the blue-and-white minibus taxis, which fit up to 12 people and cost anywhere from 5-10 birr ($0.18-$0.36 USD). You can pick up a minibus at the airport or near any major intersections in the city. The driver will call out the destinations so you know which bus to board.
